From quote to installed: the real timeline.

The most common scheduling question we get is not the price, it is the date. Here is what actually happens between sending us your plans and standing at the finished balustrade, and how long each step honestly takes.

Days one to two: the quote

Send plans or photos and rough measurements and we price most residential jobs within two working days. If the job needs a site measure first, we book it in the same call. The quote is fixed: by the time we send a number we have already worked out how the job goes together.

The site template

Once you approve, we template on site: true levels, wall lean, fixing points, the measurements a drawing cannot promise. For stairs and frameless glass this step decides whether install day is smooth or a fight, which is why we never skip it.

Fabrication: the week in the workshop

Steel is cut, welded and dressed in our Condell Park workshop, usually within a week. Toughened and laminated glass is manufactured to the measured openings and takes several working days from order. Powder coating or galvanising adds time that depends on the coater's queue, and we quote that honestly rather than promising a date we do not control.

Install: usually a day

Most residential balustrades install in a day; a stair with its balustrade is often one day too because both were built on the same jig. You get a booked date, the site left clean, and the compliance documentation handed over at the end.

What moves the timeline

Custom finishes, curved work, large glass panels and busy coating queues stretch things; a straightforward steel balustrade with a raw or stocked powder colour compresses them. Tell us your deadline at the quote stage and we will tell you plainly whether it is achievable.

Common questions

How long does a balustrade take from quote to install?
Most residential jobs run one to three weeks from approved quote to installed rail. Glass adds a few days for panel manufacture; powder coating and galvanising depend on the coater's queue. We book the install date when you approve the quote.
Can a balustrade be done faster for a deadline?
Often, yes, if we know the deadline up front. Steel we fabricate in-house moves fastest; glass and coating involve suppliers with their own queues, so the earlier the approval, the more room we have to hit a date.
