Wire balustrades have a reputation for being tricky to make compliant, and a cheap one is. Where the drop is more than four metres, the design has to avoid horizontal elements a child could climb, which means the right post spacing, cable spacing and tension. We build them to the NCC so they pass, and stay taut.
Cable balustrades live outdoors, so the fixings matter. We use marine-grade 316 stainless cable and hardware near salt air, tensioned properly so they do not sag, on posts we have fabricated to carry the load.
